Spiritualism

As an independent spark the soul is just like a lost child in a crowd. Whereas the soul which despite retaining its individual identity remains attached to the supreme whole becomes enlightened in the long run.

An example will prove this point:

A mother takes two of her children on an outing to a fair. Despite her affectionate but firm warning to both kids to keep holding one of her fingers all the time during this outing, while one continues to hold her, the other kid carelessly leaves his mother’s finger and subsequently gets lost in the crowd.
