One should realize that the astral world consists
of two phases, one which is lower half is the senses and one that is the upper
half is the mind.
During astral projection the entity might get stuck
in the lower half. This may either send the astral body in pursuit of carnal
pleasures or get caught in a vortex of negative energy, where it comes face to
face with the unsavory inhabitants of the nether world viz. demons, ghouls,
etc.
