According to Srimad Bhagawad Gita there are three
modes of material nature:
1. Goodness
2. Passion
3. Ignorance
Honesty, integrity, truthfulness, dedication, love
for god, education, erudition, knowledge, tranquility, peacefulness, etc. are
qualities in the mode of goodness.
Courage, hard work, love for material conquest,
entrepreneurship, etc. are in the mode of passion.
Indolence, laziness, anger, sorrow, incapability
etc. are in the mode of ignorance.
