As my father belonged to the Madhya Pradesh cadre, and
Nagpur was to be
transferred to Maharashtra, he was supposed to be transferred to
a town
called Gwalior. I and my brother were jubilant because this was a chance
to
travel by train. So we prayed to god almost daily in the evening that he
should
be transferred.
