Broadly there are five kinds of devotion to god.
They are Saintly love, parental love, trying to be a servant of god, friendly
love and conjugal love.
Saintly love is where the devotee sings hymns and
songs praising the lord. He/she feels intense transcendental pleasure in doing
so. In fact every devotee regardless of his/her style of devotion feels an
unending celestial elation while doing what/he she is doing for god. Saint
Purandhara dasa, Saint Tukaram, Kabir, Rahim, etc. belong to the category of
saintly love.
