The soul’s main purpose is to record the Karma(deeds)
of the living entity through its endless births.
God has been kind enough to begin this cycle of
Karma only after the living entity reaches the human form. That is because the
sixth sense of instinct begins only in this incarnation.
Plants, insects, reptiles, trees, animals etc. are
blessed only with five senses. That makes them incapable of judging what is
morally right & morally wrong.
