The Astral or subtle body consists of 2 levels:
The upper level consists of the mind (sixth sense)
which tries consistently to connect the living entity to the spiritual world
through the causal world of intelligence.
The lower level consists of senses namely touch,
taste, smell, hearing, and sight which try to connect the living entity to the
material impermanent world through the gross body consisting of two eyes, two
ears, one nose, one tongue, and skin.
