There were two highly developed aliens actually equal to each other, who came to earth almost at the same time.  One was called Anunaki & the other was Igigi.

To avoid an unending conflict between themselves they came to a compromise wherein the earth was divided into two equal halves to be kept by each in equal portions.

The Anunaki got the west side and the Igigi the east.

The west was populated by an aborigine called the Neandhrathal & the east was stiff with another aborigine called Java- Peking.

The two aliens namely Anunaki & Igigi programmed {genetically manipulated} the genes of both aborigines and injected their own DNA into it in such a way that a third more evolved race called the Cromagnon was born.

Cromagnon is our ancestor.
