When one dies he/she leaves the gross body in this
material world and gets into the astral world. This is the middle layer in the
body that envelops the soul.
On an average a living entity spends some time in
the astral world and then takes another birth into another body. But sometime
some rare and wise people crave for getting into the spiritualism.
In such a
case such desire is so powerful that incessant meditation takes the living
entity permanently to the astral world as the first stage towards ultimate
liberation.
