Self
realization requires great penance, total and unconditional surrender to god,
and devotional service. This requires great effort and time. The material world
is powerful enough to distract the mind.
Even
sage Vishwamitra was enticed by the beautiful and sensual Menaka.
However
patience and perseverance in this line has the desired effect which is always
sweet.
One of
the best ways to achieve this success is by treating every living entity as a
manifestation of god.
