Gradually step by step one should focus on the self alone through one’s mind. This according to lord Krshna is the key to liberation. Such a yogi sees god everywhere. Once a person is on the path of self realization, every step that he/she takes is a permanent one towards progress in this as well as next life. The unsuccessful yogi is born in a righteous atmosphere where he/she is given a chance to improve further. This could be the family of pious people or transcendental families. Swami Yogananda Paramahansa, Swami Sriyukteshwara Giri, Lahiri Mahasaya, Bhaktivedanta are such pious and noble souls. One should be a yogi surrendered to the lord.
