Even those who live in the kingdom of Indra and enjoy divine delights worship him. God’s devotee never perishes.

Intelligence, knowledge, freedom from doubt and delusion, forgiveness, truthfulness, self control, calmness, pleasure, pain, birth and death, fear, fearlessness, nonviolence, equanimity, satisfaction, austerity, charity, fame, and infamy are all created by god. He/she who knows this fact becomes an unalloyed devotee of god. God is the main source of both material as well as spiritual worlds. The true devotees of god always think of him and feel blissful while talking about him.

Those who do not unconditionally surrender to god, and engage in devotional service, do not attain god and come back to this miserable material world and experience repeated births and deaths. God pervades the whole universe but he himself is not part of it. Just like the wind blows here and there but always rests in the ethereal space, similarly the universe despite its numerous activities rests in god. The universe acts according to god’s supreme will.

Remember the super soul is dwelling in the heart of every embodied being. It is the localized form of god called Paramatma. It is actually his Kshirodakasai Vishnu expansion. Whoever remembers him at the time of death attains god’s nature. This is possible for any devotee who is constantly thinking of god. One should whenever possible meditate on god. This is the best way of attaining him by remembering him at death. Once the devotee attains god, there is no repeated birth or death for the devotee. God consciousness is called Bhakti yoga.

Spiritualism

Everything that is in existence consists of matter and spirit. The matter is created by the spirit and because of its existence within the matter, matter grows. However the spirit by itself cannot create matter. Only god can.

While the Mahatatva- or material creation is god’s inferior energy, the soul/living entity is his superior energy. The energy is controlled by the energetic that is god. Without his say so, both the inferior and the superior energies can not survive or operate. The superior energy of the living entity (soul) exploits the inferior material energy for its own benefit. The one who understands this completely and becomes god conscious becomes liberated.

There are three plenary expansions of god. One is called Maha Vishnu the creator of all material energy also known as Maha Tattva. The second plenary expansion is called Garbhodakasai Vishnu. The whole material creation (Maha tattva) is the material that forms the original creation of various universes, each consisting of numerous planets. Garbhodakasai Vishnu enters all these universes and planets to create diversities in them. The third plenary expansion is known as Kshirodakasai Vishnu. This in turn enters every entity in the numerous planets and universes, as the localized Paramatma (Super soul).

Out of thousands of living entities only one may endeavor for perfection. And among all such perfectionists hardly one knows the truth about god. To know god one must surrender oneself to god and render devotional service to the lord. The lord has the six opulence of beauty, fame, wealth, strength, knowledge and renunciation. Intelligence, mind, senses (false ego), ether, air, water, fire and earth these are his separated, material and inferior energies. The soul is his superior energy. 

Spiritualism

Gradually step by step one should focus on the self alone through one’s mind. This according to lord Krshna is the key to liberation. Such a yogi sees god everywhere. Once a person is on the path of self realization, every step that he/she takes is a permanent one towards progress in this as well as next life. The unsuccessful yogi is born in a righteous atmosphere where he/she is given a chance to improve further. This could be the family of pious people or transcendental families. Swami Yogananda Paramahansa, Swami Sriyukteshwara Giri, Lahiri Mahasaya, Bhaktivedanta are such pious and noble souls. One should be a yogi surrendered to the lord. 

Spiritualism

One should be moderate in eating, drinking, sleeping and recreation. Only that which is offered to Krshna should be consumed by the devotee. The devotee should always be steady in meditation on god. The stage of perfection where one’s love and devotion for god is not at all shaken is called trance or Samadhi.

One must elevate himself with one’s own mind. The mind is a friend of the living entity and also its enemy. The choice to select between the two lies with the living entity. The best way to become one’s friend is to be god conscious forever. For those who have conquered the mind it is the best of friends. For those who are victimized by mind it is the worst of enemies. For one who has conquered the mind, super soul is already reached. This is because henceforth one will be following only the diktat of god.

Unless one shuns senses gratification one cannot become a yogi. One should always remember that one is just the inferior material and marginal energy of the lord. This marginal energy can become spiritual if one becomes god conscious and surrenders oneself to god unconditionally. So pleasant is service to god that one who practices it at once becomes blissful within oneself and thus develops a distaste for material things.

One who neither hates nor loves nor desires the fruits of his/her labor is actually liberated even in this material world. The true devotee of the lord believes that he/she is only a part and parcel of the lord and that he/she has done the work as a sacrifice to the lord. The true saint, thanks to his/her devotional service achieves the supreme without delay. A pure soul is loved by all. The steadily devoted soul attains peace by acting only for god.

There is nothing more sublime than transcendental knowledge in this material world. Total surrender to god and rendering devotional service to him while continuing to work in this material world is the key to reaching the spiritual abode. Lahiri Mahasaya worked as an accountant in the defense department but was still named as Yogavtar. One should slowly but steadily detach oneself from this material world.

One must get freed from the following three stages in the concept of material life- Negligence of spiritual life, fear of a spiritual personal identity, and the conception of void after death. One must have an insatiable appetite for self realization. This brings the person to the company of holy persons. Then this person should be initiated into devotional service. This will free one from material attachments. The devotee will then be so much in love with god, that total surrender is inevitable. Finally through this process one finally attains the kingdom of god.
