That which is like
poison in the beginning but which tastes like nectar in the end is in the mode
of goodness. That which is derived by contact of the senses is passionate. It
tastes like nectar in the beginning but becomes poison gradually is in the mode
of passion. And that which is blind to self realization and is bitter right
from the beginning is in the mode of ignorance.
