When Bhishma went to Shakuni’s father asking for
her hand in marriage for prince Dhratarashtra, Shakuni protested saying that he
did not want his sister to marry a blind prince.
However when Bhishma got adamant, he had no other
choice but to grin and bear it because Bhishma and his clan where the most
powerful ones in that area at that time.
