Sacrifices
as prescribed by the scriptures are in the mode of goodness. Sacrifices done to
satisfy one’s false ego, for material benefits and to be transferred to
heavenly kingdom is in the mode of passion. Sacrifices done without adhering to
any rules and regulations prescribed in the scriptures is in the mode of
ignorance.
